Today is my day off and I only have one plan for the day...

I just got back from Ohio. I broke 3 things this last week, my camera, my cell phone and a toe. It was still a great time! I hate when vacations have to end.

Leah and I just got back from North Carolina and it was great!

We arrived late at night. The air was filled with the kind of humidity that only a coastal state could have. Our lungs were filled with air so thick you could drink it as much as breath it. Even though we were within close proximity to a city the oxygen still had a clean aroma to it.
Here in Kansas City the land is flat and plain. Farmland and wide smooth plains cover the landscape with an unimpressive image. The sky is so large that it looks like it could swallow the horizon whole. North Carolina was quite the opposite. Tall Lollipop Pines stood guard over every street and highway blocking your view of everything but the cavernous green of the plants around them. Some were so top heavy that they tipped into an arch framing the foliage beneath. Not only did the green stand tall beside you, but the blanket also covered the hills that rushed like waves over the terrain. Even the sky above was deep, with just enough clouds to keep things interesting.
The city and the surrounding area was a pleasant mix of the contemporary and the antiquated. A tall glistening skyscraper with modern angles and textures towered over a much smaller Victorian home right across the street. One was home to commerce and business suits, the other to a collection of leaded glass and memories of a time long since passed. Even the older police officer we spoke with held the most charming southern accent with matching hospitality that would make you think he might offer you a glass of sweet tea right there on the sidewalk.
The trip was fantastic and gave me the chance to spend time in a part of the country I had only driven through before. If I end up in North Carolina after my time is up in Kansas City I won’t be disappointed one bit.

It's been a while...I have spent more time on Myspace recently.

Leah and I are headed to North Carolina to see her family, then later this month we are headed to see my family in Ohio. We got our tickets to Ohio from a new airline based in Columbus called SkyBus. We got tickets for $10 each way. So our whole round trip, for the both of us, was $40. The next lowest was $210 round trip...each.
